A reminder of the task before us...
A week ago I went on a field trip to Bangkok with a bunch of OMF missionaries. The purpose of this trip was to get more familure with OMF (Overseas Missionary Fellowship). This is the missionary organization who I am studying under. They are also the ones who have made it possible for me and the rest of the missionaries who are with MBMS International to be here. I am very thankful for them. God has greatly used this organization to reach the lost.
There is so much money being poured into this place. People are told if they donate, they are guaranteed to go to heaven. If only they knew the truth of Jesus.
"...God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,
having canceled the written code,
with its regulations that was against us and that stood opposed to us;
he took it away, nailing it to the cross.
And having disarmed the powers and authorities,
he made a public spectacle of them,
triumphing over them by the cross.
(Colossians 2: 13b-15)
We were able to meet with a couple different missionaries, and hear the challenges they have faced and still face today. God continues to work in their lives and they continue to walk boldly in his promises.
We were able to also check out Bangkok Bible College.
This Bible College has over 80 % of their students that graduate, going into full time ministry. That's pretty amazing, being that back home so many go to Bible College but don't go into full time ministry after they are finished their time at Bible College.
There was also an orphanage we got to check out.
They take kids from off the streets who have been orphaned, etc, and put them into these Christian homes where they will be loved, nourished and educated. There were two girls that were orphaned from the Tsunami of 2004 staying at one of these homes. It's an amazing work that is taking place there. It reminded me of working in the orphanages in Burma (2004). I sure would like to go back for a visit one day, but I think I will wait till it's a little more peaceful.
Next we checked out some churches that were started by OMF missionaries.
The Thais truly want to reach out to their neighbors.

We were also able to check out where OMF publishes a large amount of Christian literature. They have a huge resource of Christian literature I know will be of great use as we transition to North Thailand next year.
At the end of our time in Bangkok we drove through what is going to be the world's biggest center for a sect of Buddhism here in Thailand called, " The Maha Dhammakaya Cetiya ( The center for world peace).

I believe now they can seat 300,000 peopleThere goal is to be able to seat 1 million people. This stadium is one square kilometer in size. It's huge , with a university to boot!
This place is still being built and has a way to go till completion. On the exterior of the main dome where 1 million people will sit, there are over 300, 000 Buddha images.

This is the part that really made me realize the huge task that is before all the missionaries here in Thailand. 
There is such a huge stronghold here, and we need to be daily in prayer for this country. That the love of Jesus would break through these deceptive lies of Satan.
Our team verse is found in Matthew 12:21, " In his name the Nations will put their hope". One day even Thailand with such a strong Buddhist stronghold, will put their hope in Jesus Christ, the only one who can give them entrance into the gates of Heaven. It's only Jesus, not how much money you give, only the blood that Jesus shed so we could be reconciled with God!
