Where's Reg

Originally, our plan was to leave in mid to late January. About a week and a bit ago, I got a phone call from the head office from Paul (member care) here in Abbotsford. He shared with me about the possibility of delaying our departure, (since we were still waiting on our visa's and our language school placement) and joining with the Trekkers (9 young adults who have two months of intense training and then go out for 4 to 6 months to different parts of the globe) till Feb 28th. I was called on a Friday and the program started on the Sunday evening. Yes, it was very short notice, but I totally have peace with this change. One thing that is really good is that my whole team is here too! We get to spend a lot of time together praying and digging into God's word before we go. It also gives me more time to work on these allergies I just found out I have. I found this out the day before I found out about the change of plans. I have to say the news about the allergies has been hard and at first, I had now idea what I was going to do. I am so blessed though that I found out here before I went so I can get a head start to reverse these allergies before I go.
I praise God! I am now at about 82% of my monthly pledges. I am so thankful for all who have decided to join me on this mission. You are a vital part to this ministry. Thanks for getting involved.

For New Years, a few friends and I, four by foured as far as we could into the Clearcreek hot springs, which is about an hour and a half just behind Harrison hot springs. It was a blast! We came to some crazy wash-outs, but with some work we made it through. Little did we know, just a little down from the wash-out there was an alternate route. After driving for a while and hitting a good amount of snow, we parked the truck and snow-shoed in the rest of the way.










































































After snow-shoeing for about and hour and a half, we arrived at the hotsprings only to find that someone had made a real mess of them. All the hoses were pulled old and there was a lot of garbage around the change shelter. We were so glad we brought duck-tape!
After a bit of work, our hard work paid off.























Before we went in, we dumped in some fast acting chlorine since these tubs are never really ever cleaned. The tub below was the gross one and we left that one alone except for refilling it and dumping a bunch of chorine into it to kill the bacteria. We had the hotsprings to ourself until about 11pm and then some guys showed up carrying a cooler! They were told it was a fifteen minute hike, lets just say they were not to happy with the fellows who told them that. We were glad we filled the other tub that I was just talking about. One guy got in and commented on the slimy algae, little did he know most people don't go it that tub.




This steel bathtub was the best!(no picture) It was really hot and probably the most bacteria free!
The trip was great. On the way in we had sunshine. Overnight it snowed, but by the morning the snow had turned to rain. O well, it was still fun.
