I got to see Jars of Clay(above) in concert on Saturday night. To open for them they had Disapointed by Candy and Burlap to Cashmere. I have to honestly say that Burlap to Cashmere from my view was better than Jars of Clay. Burlap to Cashmere consists of two cousins who are from Greece. They were playing in coffee houses in New Jersey and New York when they were discovered by manager Jamison Ernest. From that meeting they formed a band. They are amazingly talented with their voices and with there abilities on guitar. I have never seen someone so fast and so good! There music had a clear gospel message and it comes with an ethnic folk pop sound. So good, you got to listen to them. Plus, they were really funny and had so much Joy! Last weekend my team and I were involved in an amazing race. The teams were Egypt, Mexico and Thailand. We started off with looking at a tray with a whole bunch of different objects on it. Then they covered it and we had to write down as many as we could remember down. We ended up leaving second. The first obstacle was looking for a needle in a pile of hay. Egypt found there's and left, Mexico found there's and left but we were still there looking for ours. After a half hour we still did not find it so they let us go. We had a bunch of different obstacles and amongst them we had to find a post card of Fort Langley and believe me when I say its not that easy.

Bob got treated t0 a very nice roastbeef dinner while we sat on the ground and at our bag lunches and let me tell you , Bob made sure we knew what we were missing.Jessica had to eat Durian ( an asian fruit that smells like rotting socks, cabbage and is not allowed in govt buildings inThailand for its smell)


We also went to the Fire Station to do some crazy challenges. I think putting on the outfit and doing some obstacles is the closest I will get to being a firefighter. There was also this one challege where Bitsy had to watch this video for a period of time...badger,badger, badger, badger, mushroom,mushroom and on and on... The day started at 9 am and ended at about 7pm. We started off being in last place, but by the end, we had taken the lead and ended up being the winning team. We got to learn more about each other and we can see that God is really bringing us together as a team. A long day, but was it fun!

Just like this amazing sunset that I saw on Saturday at Stanley Park, God did something else amazing the following day. On Sunday, I went from 85% of my monthly support to 100%. God works in amazing ways and while this is pretty amazing, it doesn't stop there. My whole team is now at 100%! The finances were among some of the reasons for moving up the departure date. Now that I look back, I can see God's hand has been involved the whole time. The time with my team at the Mark center has been sooooo worth it, and God has been teaching me so much. He continues to encourage me through his Word, to live this life with my eyes fixed on what will be eternal. Another part of the delay was our language school placement, but after being at the Mark center for a couple weeks, we got accepted to start language school in Lopburi on June 2nd. Is God amazing or what! I really believe that there are times when God wants to see if we will just listen, when we do, he provides!
I still have a couple things that need to take place. I have a buffer that also has to be at 100% before I go. The buffer is made up of one time gifts that go towards start up cost's, plane ticket, and a little back up in case I am low in my support for a month, etc. The buffer is at 75 %, praise God, I am almost there! The other thing that needs to come in, is my Visa. I sent everything in a little over a week ago, so I am praying for a miracle and I know God can do it!
