Centipede...May dii (Not Good)

A few nights ago I was having a great sleep until I was awaken (at 1:30 AM) by a pinch on my right shoulder. I jumped out of my bed and went for the light switch. At first I thought I had pinched a nerve in my shoulder, but I started to think differently when the pain continued to get worse. Then the thought came into my head that maybe there was a scorpion in my bed. I turned over my blanket not to find a scorpion, but to find this ugly centipede that had just taken a bite out of me. In my sleep I must have rolled over and ended up on him or her. I ran to the kitchen and grabbed a knife, and quickly started to cut this critter in two, but both parts started to run away, so I cut it again, but now there were three parts running away. I felt like I was in some horror movie! The cutting did not work, so eventually I burned him. The rest of that night I was in fear that there was another one lurking around getting ready to bite another part of my body.
The next day I told my language teacher about what happened to me the night before. To make matters worse, and give me more fear, she went on to tell me how her mother had been bitten a while back. Her mother even had to go to the Hospital because of the bite! The following night after her Mother was bitten, another centipede came looking for the other who was no longer anywhere near their house. They could hear the next one come into the room because it was so big and they also had a tile floor. I am very thankful, the one that bit me was not that big, but wow, it still hurt!

So that evening I did a complete check of my bedroom. I taped up all the holes that I found, and made sure that there were no spaces below my door. Since then, I have been able to sleep in peace. I sure hope I don't have any more surprises!!!!!!!!!!!! Ah... the joys of Thailand.

After I got bit, I went online to find out if I should do something with the bite. I found out that I was probably ok, but I could not believe what I read on this one site (see below):

For conservation reasons please do not kill these animals, but catch them and free them in the wild

sure... then the centipede crawls back into my house and bites my other shoulder
, NOT!
